Summer is one of the most vibrant and exciting seasons for QCAIR. As the weather warms, our community calendar fills with events that celebrate the rich cultures that make the Quad Cities such a unique place to live. From festivals and community gatherings to our annual Honors Dinner and the end-of-summer Harmony Festival, this time of year reminds us how powerful it is when people come together across cultures. And with numerous other cultural based events happening this summer we have a full season of celebrating the rich tapestry of diversity that is the Quad Cities. This year's festivals do not come without challenges. Lets talk about it.

This weekend marks the start of that energy with the World Cultures Festival.

World Cultures Festival This Weekend

Join the community this Sunday at 1:00 PM at St. Ambrose University in the Rogalski Center for the World Cultures Festival.

Event details

Date: March 29, 2026

Time:1:00 PM-4:00 PM

Location: On Campus

Address: 518 W Locust St, Davenport, IA 52803

The event brings together music, food, art, and traditions from cultures around the world. It’s an opportunity to learn from one another, celebrate diversity, and experience the many communities that call the Quad Cities home.

Events like this are more than festivals. They are spaces where neighbors meet, stories are shared, and cultures are honored.

The Season of Celebration for QCAIR

Summer is traditionally one of the busiest and most exciting seasons for QCAIR. It is when our community comes alive with opportunities to gather, celebrate, and strengthen the relationships that make our work possible.

In the months ahead, we will also host our QCAIR Honors Dinner, recognizing individuals and partners who have made meaningful contributions to welcoming and supporting immigrant families.

Later in the season, we will close the summer with our beloved Harmony Festival, a celebration of culture, music, food, and unity that has become a signature event for our organization and the broader community. This year the festival is going to be held in East Moline in Partnership with East Moline of Mainstreet. It is happening on September 19th, 2026.

East Moline Main Street is an organization made up of business owners and community volunteers all working towards the common goal of driving foot traffic to downtown and once again making Downtown a destination.

Together, these events represent some of the most joyful moments of the year for QCAIR.

Quad Cities World Cup & Multicultural Festival

📍 Rock Island (Campbell Sports Complex)

This festival combines sports and cultural celebration, bringing together soccer teams representing different countries along with food, art vendors, and performances celebrating the diversity of the region.

Key highlights:

  • International soccer tournament

  • Cultural performances

  • Food and art vendors

  • Community cultural showcases

International Quint Cities Festival

📍 Events held across multiple venues in the Quad Cities

This newer regional festival aims to celebrate arts, music, food, and global cultural heritage across multiple locations in the metro area.

The goal is to create a city-wide cultural experience highlighting diversity and tourism.

Other Cultural Events That Celebrate Global Culture

While not strictly “World Cultures Festivals,” these events contribute to the international cultural scene in the Quad Cities:

  • Mercado on Fifth (Latino cultural festival series)

  • Alternating Currents Festival (arts & global music)

  • Mississippi Valley Blues Festival

  • Bix Beiderbecke Jazz Festival

The Quad Cities has a long tradition of festivals celebrating music, art, and multicultural experiences that draw residents and visitors every year.

A Season With Challenges

While this season is filled with celebration, it is not without its challenges. Across immigrant communities, many families continue to face uncertainty, fear, and barriers to accessing services. These realities make gatherings like cultural festivals even more important.

They remind us that community support, connection, and visibility matter. They create spaces where people feel welcomed, valued, and seen.

Join Us

We invite everyone to come out this and celebrate the beauty of world cultures with us.

At QCAIR, we believe that when cultures meet, communities grow.

We hope to see you there.
